Ethical Shirts

Ethical Shirts

Café Maia’s branded shirts are produced in compliance with stringent standards, meaning we can literally wear our ethics on our sleeves.

The Oeko-Tex® Standard 100 is a globally uniform testing and certification system for all stages of textile production. Buyers can be confident that clothing that displays the Oeko-Tex® label is a sign harmful chemicals are not used in the production process.

Fashionable colours, easy-care properties, a long life span and many other functional properties are now demanded of textiles, and in some cases – workwear, for instance – they’re essential. To achieve these desired properties, some suppliers use chemicals that can be harmful to health.

All Café Maia shirts have the Oeko-Tex® label, a sign harmful chemicals have not been used in the production process.

We also ensure our shirts comply with the standards laid down by WRAP, an independent, non-profit organisation dedicated to the certification of lawful, humane and ethical manufacturing around throughout the world.

It means we can be confident our shirts are not made by children or with forced labour of any kind, and the factories adhere to environmentally conscious practices.
